Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting Teaching Assistants to support pupils across South Tyneside. You will provide 1:1 and small group support, including learners with SEND, autism and speech and language needs, helping them thrive academically and socially.

Join welcoming primary schools and help deliver engaging lessons, support classroom organisation, and foster confidence and independence. Flexible hours available across full-time, part-time and supply roles, with immediate start.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification such as CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or care settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to pupil needs.
  • Support children with SEND, including autism, ADHD and speech and language needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Prepare classroom resources and support organisation.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.

Teaching Assistant - Primary Schools (South Tyneside)

Location: Primary Schools across South Tyneside
Pay: £507 - £550 per week (dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday - Friday | Flexible (Full-time, Part-time & Supply available)
Start Date: ASAP

Your Role as a Teaching Assistant

As a TA, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day life of the classroom. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual pupil needs

  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering creative and engaging lessons
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence, and independence

What We're Looking For in a Teaching Assistant

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in children's lives. Ideal candidates will have:
