Location: Manchester

Position: Teaching Assistant - Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM (30-minute break)

Start Date: As soon as possible

Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

Teaching Assistant Role Overview

As a Teaching Assistant in the EYFS, you will play a key role in supporting the class teacher, ensuring children thrive in a nurturing and engaging environment. In addition to general classroom duties, you will take responsibility for running targeted phonics intervention groups to help develop pupils' early reading and writing skills.


Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  1. Provide general classroom support in the EYFS.
  2. Run phonics intervention groups tailored to individual learning needs.
  3. Assist in the preparation of engaging and creative learning activities.
  4. Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  5. Support the emotional and social development of children.
  6. Ensure a safe and stimulating learning environment.

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

To be successful as a Teaching Assistant, you will need:

  1. Experience working in EYFS or a similar role.
  2. A strong understanding of phonics and early literacy development.
  3. Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Relevant qualifications (Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning is desirable).
