Jobs4 in Rainham, London Borough of Havering, is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs. This full-time / term-time position offers a rewarding chance to help children learn and grow in a welcoming school environment.

You will work 1:1 or in small groups, assist the class teacher, implement IEPs and behaviour strategies, and help create a safe, nurturing learning space.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with SEN (school or alternative setting preferred).
  • A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow guidance from teachers and SENCOs.
  • Relevant qualifications or training are desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with a range of SEN needs (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties) on a 1:1 or small group basis.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Provide emotional and behavioural support, helping pupils to regulate and engage positively.

  • Promote a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment.

SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Rainham, London Borough of Havering
Start Date: ASAP / Flexible
Contract: Full-time / Term-time only
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Rainham. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with special educational needs and make a real difference to their learning and development.
