Job description

Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Location: M34, Manchester

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Pay Rate: GBP 13.69 to GBP 15.87 per hour

Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term (Temp to Perm Opportunity)

Reeson Education is supporting a welcoming mainstream primary school in the M34 area of Manchester in their search for a Teaching Assistant to join their new SEN Provision. This role starts as soon as possible, allowing the successful candidate to familiarize themselves with the school before the provision officially launches in September.

The new SEN Provision will support a small group of children across KS1 and KS2 with needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, anxiety, trauma, and looked-after children. As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with the SENDCO and SEN team to provide structured, nurturing support in an inclusive, supportive environment where every child is valued.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate SEN-supportive Teaching Assistant seeking a stable, long-term position with the potential to secure a school contract.

Key Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant
  1. Support pupils with additional needs in the SEN provision
  2. Deliver small group and 1:1 interventions
  3. Help implement EHCP targets and behavior regulation strategies
  4. Assist in maintaining a calm, structured, and nurturing environment
  5. Collaborate with the SENCO, teaching staff, and external professionals
The Ideal Teaching Assistant Will
  1. Have experience supporting pupils with SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH)
  2. Be confident working with children across KS1 and KS2
  3. Be patient, proactive, and compassionate
  4. Have a flexible, team-oriented mindset and a strong work ethic
  5. Be committed to long-term, full-time work
Teaching Assistant Requirements
  1. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
