As we continue to grow, we are seeking an empathetic and proactive Graduate Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting students with a variety of educational needs, including autism and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. **Role Summary**: The Graduate Teaching Assistant will play a key role in assisting classroom teachers in creating a nurturing and effective learning environment. This position is ideal for individuals who are keen on making a significant impact on the lives of young students and are seeking experience within the educational sector. **Key Responsibilities**: - Provide on-to-one support and small group interventions for students with special educational needs, particularly those with autism and SEMH. - Implement behaviour management strategies to promote a positive and productive classroom atmosphere. - Work under the direction of the class teacher to support student learning and assist in the delivery of the curriculum. - Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the evaluation of students' educational needs. - Support students during transition times, ensuring their safety and assisting with emotional regulation. - Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student development and well-being. - Prepare classroom materials and set up equipment necessary for lessons and activities. - Assist with administrative tasks as needed, such as record-keeping and organizing resources. **Requirements**: - Must possess a graduate degree, preferably in education or a related field. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents. - An understanding of the needs of students with autism and SEMH challenges. - A positive and patient approach to behaviour management. - Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. - Flexibility and adaptability to work with different age groups and learning needs. - While previous experience as a teaching assistant is not required, it is highly preferred. - Pay starts between £89 and £104.
