Teaching Assistant – Clare Lodge

All about the Role

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with additional needs, ensuring they thrive academically and personally.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Providing tailored support to individuals and small groups.
  2. Promoting inclusion and encouraging active participation in both academic and extracurricular activities.
  3. Collaborating with specialist services.
  4. Assisting in lesson planning and monitoring student progress.
  5. Supporting behaviour management and supervising students as needed.
  6. Managing the classroom environment and resources.
  7. Ensuring diversity and cultural sensitivity in teaching.
  8. Following safeguarding protocols and receiving training in physical restraint.
  9. Supporting the unique environment of Clare Lodge, a secure children’s home offering female-only welfare placements for young women with SEND needs.

All about You

  • You have experience working with young people in an educational environment.
  • You are willing to actively participate in training and development activities to ensure up-to-date skills.
  • You have Level 2 Maths and English qualifications.

Clare Lodge is a leading national provider of all-female welfare placements (Children Act 1989, Section 25) for young people in the UK. The service is independent, not contracted to the Youth Justice Board, and accepts referrals for young people aged 10 to 17 with complex needs, including histories of abuse, exploitation, mental health issues, and challenging behaviours.
