Job summary

St Joseph's in Otley is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs and provide general classroom assistance. The role is permanent and term-time only with an additional day, totaling 30.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday, 8:45am–3:20pm.

The salary is NJC Grade A1/B1, Scale Points 3–6, ranging from £25,614 to £26,846 per annum, with an actual salary from £17,797 to £18,653 per annum for term-time arrangements.

Qualifications

• Numeracy and literacy skills grade 4 or above (or equivalent level).
• Caring, patient and intuitive to the needs of the child to enable them to access the curriculum.
• Able to communicate effectively with pupils and staff.
• Flexible in approach and able to adapt to working with both groups and individual pupils.
• Willing to help with activities both in the classroom and across the school.
• Professional, responsible and aware of the need to maintain confidentiality.
• Supportive of the Catholic ethos of the school.

Job description

The Governors are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly Teaching Assistant to join our Catholic primary school at St Joseph's, Otley. We are looking for an individual to provide support to children with additional needs as well as general classroom support. Experience is desirable but not essential.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant, who has numeracy and literacy skills grade 4 or above (or equivalent level) and who is:

• Caring, patient and intuitive to the needs of the child to enable them to access the curriculum as designated by the teacher
• Able to communicate effectively with pupils and staff
