Job summary

St Joseph's Otley is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our Catholic primary school. The role involves supporting children with additional needs and providing general classroom assistance. The position is permanent, term time only plus 1 day, 30.5 hours weekly, with a salary in NJC Grade A1/B1 range. Experience desirable but not essential.

We value a caring, patient approach and strong communication with pupils and staff. DBS check required; visits welcomed through the school office.

Qualifications

• Numeracy and literacy skills grade 4 or above (or equivalent).
• Caring, patient and intuitive to the needs of the child to enable them to access the curriculum as designated by the teacher.
• Able to communicate effectively with pupils and staff.
• Flexible in approach, able to adapt to working with both groups and individual pupils.
• Professional, responsible and aware of the need to maintain confidentiality.
• Supportive of the Catholic ethos of the school.
