Job summary

St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Middlesbrough is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a hardworking, motivated team. The role focuses on supporting learning, particularly for vulnerable pupils, with strong Catholic ethos and excellent communication within a team.

The successful candidate will work 30 hours per week, term time only, with a pro rata salary of £25,583 (actual £17,460). Closing date is 12 October 2026, 9am. Contact Head of School Kate Moody for details.

• Be confident working with children across all Primary phases

• Has previous successful TA experience
• Demonstrate excellent Numeracy and Literacy skills
• Be able to enhance existing provision to support learning and participation

• Demonstrate excellent behaviour management and communication skills
• Be committed to promoting self-esteem in our children

The ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator and have the ability to build supportive relationships within a team of established Teaching Assistants.
