Job summary

Outcomes First Group, via Oakham Shires School, is seeking caring Teaching Assistants to support pupils with autism and complex needs. You will work with teachers to enable personalised learning, build confidence and develop independence, in a nurturing, inclusive environment.

No prior SEN experience is required; values, patience and motivation will be developed with a supportive team and comprehensive training opportunities. A full UK driving licence is preferred for community activities.

You'll work closely with teachers and the wider school team to provide personalised support that helps pupils engage with learning, build confidence and develop greater independence. What You'll Be Doing

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils access learning and achieve their individual goals.
• Support teachers in delivering creative, engaging and personalised learning activities.
• Build positive, trusting relationships that help pupils feel safe, understood and ready to learn.
• Encourage communication, independence, confidence and social development.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour using calm, consistent and positive approaches.
• Take part in classroom, outdoor and community-based learning, helping pupils develop valuable life skills.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider team to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive.

Essential

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
• Full UK Driving Licence, as pupils regularly take part in community-based activities.

Desirable - But Not Essential

• Experience supporting autistic children or young people and/or those with complex needs or behaviours.
