Job summary

Outcomes First Group's Ashley Park School in Walton-on-Thames is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs. Working alongside teachers, therapists and the wider team, you will help create a nurturing, inclusive learning environment where every child can access the curriculum and grow in confidence.

This permanent, term-time role offers 37.5 hours per week, with start in October 2026.

Qualifications

  • Experience with children with SEN or relevant SEN qualifications beneficial but not essential, training provided.
  • Patient, compassionate and committed to helping every pupil reach potential.
  • Positive team player with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Adaptable and resilient to respond to individual pupil needs.
  • Willing to learn, develop and pursue professional qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging, creative and personalised learning experiences.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils access the curriculum and achieve their goals.
  • Encourage pupils' communication, independence, confidence and social development.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with planning, implementation and review of individual support plans and activities.
  • Prepare classroom resources and help create stimulating learning environments.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, families and other professionals to provide holistic support.
  • Maintain accurate records with safeguarding, health and safety, and pupil wellbeing.

About You
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN or relevant SEN qualifications are beneficial, but not essential – we\'ll provide training and support to help you succeed.

About the School Ashley Park School is located in the stunning market town on the south bank of the Thames in the borough of Surrey. It forms part of the Greater London built up area and is served by a wide range of transport routes to school, making it easily accessible. Our new specialist school will cater for young people with complex communication needs, autism and associated learning and emotional needs.
