Job summary

Tilewood School, part of Outcomes First Group, seeks an exceptional SEN Teacher to join the founding team at a brand-new specialist school in Buckinghamshire. You will deliver creative, personalised learning for pupils with Autism and additional needs, shaping curriculum and culture from day one.

As a founding teacher, you’ll help build our ethos, support pupil wellbeing, and collaborate with families and a multidisciplinary team to enable every learner to thrive and achieve their potential.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience supporting children with Autism, SEND or complex needs.
• Passionate about delivering creative, inclusive and personalised learning.
• Builds positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons for individuals and small groups.
• Create, review and implement IEPs, Behaviour Plans and personalised learning programmes.
• Monitor, assess and celebrate pupil progress with accurate records.
• Foster a safe, inclusive classroom promoting confidence, independence and achievement.
• Support pupils' emotional wellbeing using nurturing approaches.
• Collaborate with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, families and the team.
• Contribute to curriculum development and whole-school improvement.
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of every pupil.

Location: Tilewood School - Buckinghamshire, MK18 5AN

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)

Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent | Term time only

What You'll Be Doing

• Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons for individuals and small groups, tailored to pupils' individual needs.
• Create, review and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Behaviour Plans and personalised learning programmes.
• Monitor, assess and celebrate pupil progress, maintaining accurate records and identifying next steps.
• Foster a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes confidence, independence and achievement.
• Support pupils' emotional wellbeing, behaviour and personal development using nurturing and therapeutic approaches.
• Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, families and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to curriculum development, whole-school improvement and the continued growth of our brand-new school.
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of every pupil, ensuring the highest standards of care, wellbeing and inclusion.

About You

About us

Tilewood School is an exciting new addition to the Options Autism family, provisionally set to open its doors in April 2027. Designed to support up to 72 students aged 5 to 16, the school will offer a nurturing and inclusive learning environment tailored to meet the diverse needs of its pupils. For over 19 years, Options Autism has provided specialist care and education for children, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties. As part of Outcomes First Group, we are pioneering innovative, evidence-based approaches that deliver meaningful, measurable outcomes for everyone in our care.
