Job summary

Shepeau Stow Primary School is looking to appoint a Level 1 General Teaching Assistant for 25 hours per week across 39 weeks per year.

The successful candidate will support children in and out of the classroom, work with a range of educational needs and liaise with parents and external agencies where suitable.

We value someone with strong English and Maths, excellent communication, empathy and the ability to work using their own initiative to help children succeed.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with SEND children would be an advantage.
• Have worked within a classroom environment.
• Are passionate about education.
• Have strong English and Maths skills and are willing to learn and develop existing skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing support to children in and out of the classroom.
• Assisting with a range of educational needs.
• Providing children with care and compassion they need to thrive in school.
• Liaising with parents and external agencies where suitable.
• Supporting with appropriate interventions such as phonics and maths.
• Working collaboratively with the teacher and the wider school team to improve outcomes for children.
