Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a full-time Early Years Teaching Assistant in Newport to start in September for a long-term role. You’ll join a welcoming 3-form entry primary school, supporting pupils across the EYFS with ALN needs and promoting inclusive learning.

Working closely with the class teacher, you’ll deliver engaging activities and help every child reach their potential in a nurturing environment. Pays attractively and CPD opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 Childcare or Teaching Assistant qualification preferred.
• Experience supporting children in Early Years settings.
• Experience working with ALN and inclusive learning approaches.
• Good understanding of child development and relevant curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across the Early Years Foundation Phase in class.
• Work with children with ALN to promote inclusive learning.

Salary: £85.50 to £95 per day

The school is looking to appoint a full-time Early Years Teaching Assistant from September on a long-term basis. The successful Early Years Teaching Assistant will work within the Early Years Foundation Phase, supporting pupils across the classroom, including children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), working closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging learning activities and promote positive outcomes.

The successful Early Years Teaching Assistant will have:

• A Level 3 Childcare or Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred
• Experience supporting children within an Early Years setting
• Experience working with children with ALN
• A good understanding of child development and the Curriculum for Wales Foundation Phase
• A positive, proactive and caring approach to supporting children's learning
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
