Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a secondary SEND school in Selly Oak. The role involves supporting learning, development and personal care for pupils with MLD, ASD and SLD, inside a caring classroom environment.

You will work closely with staff to provide consistent support, foster independence and maintain a positive, engaging learning atmosphere. The position is full-time and pays at market rates with CPD opportunities and 24/7 consultant support.

Qualifications

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a secondary SEND school based in Selly Oak. The school supports young people with a range of additional needs, including Moderate Learning Difficulties / MLD, Autism Spectrum Disorder / ASD and Severe Learning Difficulties / SLD, and values enthusiastic staff who can build strong and trusting relationships.

The school is looking to take on a Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis, supporting secondary-aged pupils with their learning, development and personal care needs. The successful Teaching Assistant must be confident providing personal care and will work closely with pupils and staff to provide consistent support, encourage independence and create a positive and engaging learning environment.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
• Experience supporting pupils with MLD, ASD and/or SLD
• Confidence and experience supporting young people with personal care needs
• A patient, caring and positive approach
• The ability to build strong relationships with young people
• A fun, enthusiastic attitude and a genuine desire to make a difference
