Trust Education Limited is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 pupil with SEND on a 1:1 basis. The role starts 2 November, is full-time and ongoing, with potential to widen to general classroom support as needs evolve.
You will work alongside the class teacher to break tasks into manageable steps, encourage independence and help create a safe, inclusive learning environment where every child can gain confidence and engagement each day.
Full-Time | Starting 2nd November | Ongoing Opportunity
Could you be the person who helps a child find their confidence in the classroom?
We’re looking for a caring, patient and proactive Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school from Monday 2nd November. This is a full-time, ongoing opportunity initially supporting a child on a 1:1 basis within Key Stage 2, giving you the chance to build a positive relationship and make a genuine difference to their school experience.
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll be more than an extra pair of hands in the classroom. You’ll be someone a child can rely on for encouragement, reassurance and support, helping them feel safe, included and ready to learn. Every day will bring different challenges, so we’re looking for a Teaching Assistant who can adapt their approach, think on their feet and celebrate the small wins that make such a big difference.
Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team, you’ll initially provide tailored 1:1 SEND support to help a Key Stage 2 pupil access their learning and take part in classroom life. You’ll help break tasks down into manageable steps, encourage independence and provide additional guidance when things feel overwhelming.
The role may evolve over time, with the possibility of moving from dedicated 1:1 support into a more general classroom Teaching Assistant position. Flexibility and adaptability are therefore essential. We’re looking for a Teaching Assistant who is comfortable responding to changing needs, happy to take on different responsibilities and willing to support pupils across the classroom as the school’s requirements develop.
The right Teaching Assistant will understand that progress doesn’t always happen overnight. Sometimes it’s completing a task independently, managing a difficult moment or simply feeling confident enough to join in. You’ll play an important role in recognising these achievements and helping pupils continue to develop.
You’ll also help maintain a calm, positive learning environment, support individual needs and work alongside teaching staff to ensure pupils receive consistent, appropriate support throughout the school day.
We’re interested in hearing from a Teaching Assistant who is patient, approachable and genuinely passionate about supporting children with additional needs. Experience working within SEND, providing 1:1 support or supporting pupils who need a little extra help to access education would be beneficial.
Perhaps you’re an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for your next long-term opportunity, or you’ve worked in a similar support role and are ready to bring your skills into a school environment. What matters most is your ability to build trust, remain calm under pressure and understand that every child learns differently.
You’ll need to be flexible, adaptable and open to change, as the position may develop to include general classroom support alongside, or instead of, dedicated 1:1 SEND provision. A successful Teaching Assistant will be someone who can offer encouragement without taking over, provide structure when it’s needed and help pupils develop the confidence to do more for themselves.
