Teaching Assistant

Position Details:

  • Immediate start
  • Competitive pay rate of GBP80-100 per day
  • Full-time, long-term role
  • Location: North London

We are seeking a dedicated teaching assistant for a reputable (Ofsted-rated) special educational needs (SEN) school in North London. The school supports students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

The school is easily accessible via excellent transport links across London. As part of the team, you will benefit from a supportive environment, strong leadership, and excellent resources. Willingness to assist with personal care is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with ASD and SEMH, including non-verbal students
  • Provide academic support in one-on-one or small group settings
  • Promote a positive, inclusive classroom environment and offer emotional support
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to ensure safety and positive behaviour
  • Use positive reinforcement techniques to foster focus and self-control
  • Assist with lesson planning and delivery
  • Adhere to safeguarding policies to protect students

Requirements:

  • Legal right to work in the UK
  • Up-to-date DBS clearance
  • Experience as a teaching assistant
  • Patience, caring attitude, and ability to remain calm in challenging situations
