Graduate Teaching Assistant – Unqualified Teacher
Outstanding Academy School in Newham, East London, is seeking graduates for the role of Teaching Assistant / Unqualified Teacher. The position offers a salary of £540 to £630 per week, with 23 vacancies available, starting in September or possibly sooner.
Ideal candidates are final-year students with a 1st or 2:1 degree in subjects such as Maths, English, Science, Geography, History, RE/Philosophy, Computer Science, Drama, or Modern Foreign Languages (French, German, Spanish). Graduates from Oxbridge or Russell Group universities are preferred.
Progression to salaried teacher training from September 2026, with opportunities to plan and deliver lessons, observe teaching practices, and collect evidence towards teaching standards.
This outstanding graded academy serves secondary and sixth form students aged 11-18, with approximately 3000 pupils, expanding to 3600 by 2028. It is highly oversubscribed, ranked 7th in England by TES, and has received £20 million funding for expansion. The school has a strong record of developing graduates into qualified teachers, with 13 current graduates progressing to salaried teacher training.
