Job description

Competitive salary with progression opportunities + Local Government Pension Scheme + 24/7 access to a free virtual GP Service + collaborative MAT network + additional LAT benefits.

Leigh Stationers' Academy has an exciting opportunity for a knowledgeable and efficient individual to join us in the role of Teaching Assistant. This role will suit both experienced TAs who are looking to join our academy and is also suitable for graduates looking to gain first-hand experience with a view to commencing Teacher Training with us in the future. We are keen to hear from candidates who have previous experience working with pupils who have a diagnosis of ASD, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) or SLCN (Speech, Language & Communication Needs).

Successful candidates will work 1:1 with selected students, and also support small groups both in mainstream classes and in the inclusion area via intervention sessions. In addition, you will work closely with teachers to differentiate resources and set and monitor targets. You will have the opportunity to be part of a team that is truly changing lives and positively transforming the local community. If you feel you have the necessary attitude and experience then we would love to hear from you!

What are we looking for in you?

It is preferable for applicants to have previous experience of working with young people, but not essential. You will be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) in literacy and numeracy. You will be dedicated to personal learning and development, and have a sincere commitment to sharing our values and drive for continuous improvement. In return, we will offer you a professional and supportive team, a state of the art working environment and a genuine opportunity to develop.

This position offers an actual salary of £27,448 per annum (£29,788 full-time equivalent) based on 37 hours per week, term time plus 1 week inset. The working hours are 8am - 4pm, Monday - Friday, with a 3:30pm finish on a Wednesday. This is a fixed-term role until July 2027 in the first instance.

Note that whilst the position is fixed-term, every effort will be made to offer a substantive position thereafter within the wider family of academies across Leigh Academies Trust. The central Recruitment Team will keep in touch with you throughout your contract to discuss options available to you.
