Job summary

Leigh Academy Bearsted is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team. The role involves assisting in a primary setting, supporting a pupil with physical and medical needs, and collaborating with another TA.

A focus on clear English and Maths communication and strong classroom practice is required. The position is permanent, offering £19,655 per annum for 32.5 hours per week during term time plus 1 week of inset.

The successful candidate will need to have relevant experience and/or qualifications in working with primary-aged children, as this is where the role sits. We are also looking for proven high standards of both spoken and written English and Mathematics. Being able to communicate effectively with children and adults is essential, together with a friendly and approachable manner. Our newly appointed Teaching Assistant will be able to work using their own initiative and demonstrate effective behaviour management skills. In return, they will join a supportive environment with plenty of development opportunities within the academy and across the wider Trust. This role will involve supporting a student with physical and medical needs, and will be shared with another member of staff.

This is a permanent position, offering an actual salary of £19,655 per annum (£26,016 full time equivalent) based on 32.5 hours per week, Term Time + 1 week of inset.
