Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a SEMH PRU in Bury. You will support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, helping them engage with learning in a calm and safe environment.

Qualifications

Teaching Assistant SEMH Pupil Referral Unit Bury

Location: Bury, Greater Manchester
Pay: £92.63 £110 per day (depending on experience)

We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Bury. This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support due to social, emotional, and behavioural needs. You will play a key role in creating a calm, safe, and engaging learning environment, helping pupils to develop both academically and personally.

Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or within a PRU, alternative provision, or specialist setting.
  • Exceptional empathy, patience, and understanding.

  • Is committed to promoting inclusion, resilience, and positive outcomes for every pupil.
