Job summary

TipTopJob is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a well established Primary PRU in the M13 Manchester area. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, with start ASAP and the usual 8:30am to 3:30–5:00pm finish depending on day.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs, using Team Teach strategies to maintain a safe learning environment and work closely with teachers and support staff to tailor approaches.

Qualifications

• Team Teach trained within the last 2 years (essential).
• Experience with children with additional needs is desirable.
• Strong behaviour management with a nurturing approach.

Responsibilities

Teaching Assistant Role Information

• Full:time, long:term role with the opportunity to become permanent.
• Based in a well:established Primary PRU in the M13 postcode.
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM start, finish between 3:30 PM and 5:00 PM depending on the day.
• Pay: GBP14.25 to GBP16.65 per hour (PAYE or Umbrella).
• Start Date: ASAP.
• Must be Team Teach trained within the last 2 years.

Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities

• Provide one:to:one and small group support to pupils with a range of additional needs.
• Use Team Teach strategies to help regulate behaviour and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to implement personalised strategies.
• Support children in regulating behaviour, building confidence, and engaging in learning.
• Encourage positive social and emotional development.
• Adapt to a fast:paced and varied environment while maintaining a calm, consistent approach.

Teaching Assistant Requirements

• Team Teach trained within the last 2 years (essential requirement).
• Previous experience working with children with additional needs is highly desirable.
• Strong behaviour management skills with a nurturing and patient approach.
• Ability to adapt quickly, use initiative, and remain resilient under pressure.Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness ).
• A genuine passion for supporting children to reach their potential.
