Job summary

Lift Schools is looking for two Teaching Assistant opportunities within a Trust investing in career development. The role supports students to access learning, build confidence, and achieve goals, while helping them grow independence and self-esteem.

You’ll work with teachers to plan, deliver and assess lessons, supporting a positive learning environment and student wellbeing. L3 TA apprenticeship or willingness to work towards it is expected.

About the role

You’ll work alongside teachers to help students access learning, build confidence, and achieve their goals. This is a chance to support young people with their academic progress while also helping them grow their independence and self-esteem. Your role will be vital in creating a positive learning environment where every student can succeed. Key responsibilities

• Support students with their learning needs, including those with SEND, so they can access lessons and achieve their goals
• Help young people build independent learning skills and manage their own progress
• Work together with teachers to plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons
• Guide individual students and small groups through targeted learning activities
• Build positive relationships with students and support their wellbeing

We are looking for someone who

You’ll have good communication skills and enjoy working with young people. A basic understanding of how children learn is helpful, or you might be keen to develop this knowledge with us. You’ll bring patience, empathy and a calm approach to your work, and you’ll be comfortable using IT to support learning.

We’re looking for someone who values collaboration and wants to be a trusted team member. You’ll be reflective about your own practice and open to feedback as you grow in the role. Most importantly, you’ll care about equality and creating chances for every student to succeed. Could this be you?

What you’ll need to succeed

You will have a L3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship or equivalent or willingness to work towards this qualification with an understanding of a range of pupil's learning needs. You will have patience in interactions with a variety of students and situations, with a calm demeanour and have empathy to understand the needs and challenges of students and be able to relate to them on a personal level. You will also be somebody who can engage and enthuse students to want to learn.
