Job summary

Lift Ashingdon is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils across the school week, working 23.75 hours. You will help students access learning, assist those with SEND, and foster confidence, resilience and independent study in collaboration with teachers and the SENDCO.

You’ll have opportunities to grow through our Level 3 and Level 5 Teaching Assistant programmes and, for ambitious candidates, possible routes into teaching via our wider staff development schemes.

Are you passionate about helping children learn, grow and develop their confidence? We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join Lift Ashingdon working 23.75hours a week.

This is more than a support role. You'll work alongside teachers to help students access learning, build confidence and achieve their goals. You'll also have the chance to grow your own skills through our Level 3 and Level 5 Teaching Assistant programmes, or even our Initial Teacher Training if you're thinking about a teaching career.

About the role

You will get to know pupils' individual learning needs, including specific SEND needs, and provide the right support to help them take part fully in lessons. You will also deliver individual and small-group interventions, promote positive behaviour and support pupils' social, emotional and mental wellbeing, including personal care where required.

Working alongside teachers, the SENDCO, pastoral colleagues and families, you will play an important part in creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment where every pupil has the opportunity to succeed.

We are looking for someone who

You don't need years of experience-we're looking for people who care, want to learn and are ready to contribute. If you have GCSEs in Maths and English (or are willing to work towards them), good communication skills and a calm, patient approach, we'd love to hear from you.
