Job summary

NextGen Teachers are recruiting a caring SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school on a full-time, term-time basis. The role offers £14.35 per hour (holiday pay) with a rise to £130 per day after 12 weeks, working 33.75 hours weekly. Long-term temporary with potential to become permanent; trials start soon.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, help pupils engage with learning, promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and independence, and receive specialist SEMH training.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar is beneficial.
• Interest in supporting SEMH students and working in specialist education.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group classroom support.
• Support pupils with SEMH and additional needs.
• Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and independence.
• Help pupils engage with learning and overcome barriers.
• Create a calm and supportive learning environment.

NextGen Teachers are looking for a caring and resilient Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school on a full-time, long-term basis.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their experience within specialist education. You'll receive support and training from the school, with the opportunity to progress into a permanent position.

The role

• Support pupils with SEMH and additional needs
• Provide 1:1 and small-group classroom support
• Help pupils engage with learning and overcome barriers
• Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and independence
• Provide calm and consistent support when pupils are struggling
• Help create a positive and supportive learning environment

We're looking for someone who:

• Is patient, resilient and genuinely interested in supporting young people
• Can build positive relationships with pupils
• Has a calm and reassuring approach
• Works well as part of a team
• Has GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
• Can commit to Monday-Friday during term timeExperience as a Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Support Worker or Classroom Assistant would be beneficial.
