Job summary

Hayes School in London is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs and/or Disability in line with policy and the Equality Act 2010. The role will work across the school under the direction of the SENCO to support a range of needs with a positive, professional approach.

The post is scale 2 (points 3–4) with a salary of £25,732–£26,099, term-time only (36.65 hours over 39 weeks) and hours 8:00am–4:00pm, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting students with SEN/Disabilities.
  • Professional approach when working with students, staff and parents.
  • Role across the school under SENCO guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Support the inclusion and learning of students with SEN/Disabilities.
  • Work across the school as directed by the SENCO/Assistant SENCO.

Working hours 8.00am - 4.00pm Monday to Friday

We are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to support the inclusion and learning of student(s) with Special Educational Needs and/or a Disability in line with Hayes policy and practice, and the Equalities Act 2010. The role will be to work across the school, as directed by the SENCO/Assistant SENCO, to support a range of students with Special Educational Needs and/or Disability. You will need to demonstrate a professional approach in all aspects of work with colleagues, students and parents/carers and to be a role model to students, demonstrating a positive and problem-solving approach at all times.

Special Educational Needs includes any combination of the following:
  • Communication and interaction
  • Cognition and learning
  • Social, mental and emotional health
  • Sensory and/or physical

Our school benefits from and actively contributes to a range of partnerships and we are the lead school for the Bromley Schools’ Collegiate, a School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) provider for primary and secondary teacher training.
