Job summary

Hayes School in Bromley is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support the inclusion and learning of students with Special Educational Needs and/or Disability in line with policy and the Equalities Act 2010. The role works across the school under the SENCO/Assistant SENCO to support a range of SEND students and to model professionalism with colleagues, students and parents.

Qualifications

  • Work with SENCO/Assistant SENCO to implement support across the school.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, monitoring and evaluating student progress.
  • Support behaviour, routines and learning activities.
  • Contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Job description

We are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to support the inclusion and learning of student(s) with Special Educational Needs and/or a Disability in line with Hayes policy and practice, and the Equalities Act 2010. The role will be to work across the school, as directed by the SENCO/Assistant SENCO, to support a range of students with Special Educational Needs and/or Disability. You will need to demonstrate a professional approach in all aspects of work with colleagues, students and parents/carers and to be a role model to students, demonstrating a positive and problem-solving approach at all times. Special Educational Needs includes any combination of the following:

  • Communication and interaction
  • Cognition and learning
  • Social, mental and emotional health
  • Sensory and/or physical
