Job summary

Broadhurst School in Greater London is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to support Nursery learners within the EYFS framework. You will work alongside the class teacher to deliver age-appropriate activities and nurture children in a warm, collaborative environment.

The role requires 2–5 years of nursery or school experience, NVQ Level 2 in Childcare or equivalent, and a patient, team-oriented approach. First Aid and safeguarding training are desirable.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with 2–5 year olds in nursery or school.
  • Solid understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
  • First Aid and Safeguarding training desirable (training can be provided).

Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate EYFS activities.
  • Assist with the preparation and organisation of classroom materials and learning areas.
  • Work closely with individual children and small groups to support learning and development.
  • Promote children's independence, confidence and social skills through play and structured activities.
  • Help with personal care routines, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Contribute to observations and assessments to inform planning.
  • Communicate positively with children, staff and parents.
  • Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures at all times.

Job description

Broadhurst School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to support learning and development in our Nursery class. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a warm and welcoming Early Years setting with a strong emphasis on high-quality care and early education.

About the Role

Working alongside the class teacher, the successful candidate will support the delivery of the EYFS curriculum, assist with classroom routines and provide nurturing, hands-on support to individual children and small groups. This role is ideal for a dedicated early years professional who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment.

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm

Key Responsibilities

About You
  • Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Childcare, Early Years Education or equivalent - essential

  • Warm, patient and supportive approach with a genuine passion for early years education
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • First Aid and Safeguarding training desirable (training can be provided)
