Job summary

Broadhurst School in London is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to support learning in our Nursery, working alongside the class teacher to deliver the EYFS curriculum. This role offers a welcoming, independent school environment with a focus on high-quality early education.

The successful candidate will support individual children and small groups, assist with classroom routines and help create nurturing, hands-on learning experiences daily. Hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Childcare / EYFS essential.
  • Experience with children aged 2–5 in nursery or school setting.
  • Solid understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
  • Warm, patient and supportive approach; passion for early years education.

Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering EYFS activities.
  • Assist with preparation and organisation of classroom materials and learning areas.
  • Work with individual children and small groups to support learning and development.
  • Promote independence, confidence and social skills through play and structured activities.
  • Help with personal care routines, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Contribute to observations and assessments to inform planning.
  • Communicate positively with children, staff and parents.
  • Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures at all times.
