Job summary

Burford School invites applications for a Teaching Assistant to support teaching staff and pupils in a friendly, inclusive environment.

The role is term-time, 31.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with 38 weeks per year. The post offers pro-rata pay, LGPS, CPD opportunities and staff development access. You will assist with classes, groups or individuals to help pupils reach their potential.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication with students, parents and staff.
  • Calm, patient and empathetic approach in classroom settings.
  • Ability to listen, observe and respond to pupil needs within planned activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning by working with the class, small groups or individuals under direction of teaching staff.
  • Assist teachers with learning activities within the planned curriculum and maintain classroom routines.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive environment and monitor pupil behaviour as required.

Job description

Teaching Assistant

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 08.30am-3.15pm (including 30 minutes daily unpaid break)

Total Weekly Hours: 31.25

Working Weeks: 38 weeks (Term Time)

FTE Salary: Bucks Pay Range 1b Points 6-10; £24,836 - £25,823

Actual Salary: £17,386 - £18,077 (Depending on experience)

The Role

The successful will work with teachers to support teaching and learning by working with the class, small groups or individuals under the direction of teaching staff and may be responsible for some learning activities within the overall teaching plan. To support the class teacher in delivering the learning intension.
