Job summary

Aspris Children's Services in Frome is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join the Education team. The role supports across all key stages, assisting with children’s work and managing pupil behaviour while modelling positive conduct.

The ideal candidate is versatile, resilient and committed, with or without classroom experience, and a passion for working with young people with SEN. Training and safeguarding are emphasised throughout the role.

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate may have previous experience supporting in a classroom setting.
  • We welcome applications from candidates with no experience but who are passionate about working with young people with SEN.

Responsibilities

  • Assist children with their work and support pupil behaviour.
  • Establish good relationships with pupils and act as a role model.
  • Respond to individual needs to enable progress across key stages.

Job description

North Hill House are recruiting for a Teaching assistant to join our Education team. We are looking for versatile, resilient and committed Teaching Assistants, who can adapt their practice wherever necessary to support across all key stages. The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher, assisting the children with their work and supporting with pupil behaviour while establishing good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs.

Set in its own grounds close to Frome town centre, North Hill House is an independent specialist day school for children and young people aged 6 to 19 years with high functioning autistic spectrum disorders, including Asperger’s Syndrome and associated difficulties.

The school has been specifically designed to provide a strong focus for both UK and international students who need different levels of support to succeed, thus allowing young people with autistic spectrum disorders, Asperger’s Syndrome and associated difficulties to thrive effectively in an ever-demanding and complex society.
