Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in the Bolton area from September. This full-time role supports students with SEND and SEMH needs, helping them access learning and engage in activities.

You will work with teaching and pastoral staff to promote positive behaviour, academic progress, and social development, building strong relationships with pupils and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in SEMH, behavioural, education or care settings.
  • SEND experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Calm, patient, and nurturing approach, able to stay professional in challenging situations.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one (Prospero can provide this service).

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in the Bolton area from September.

This is a full-time opportunity within a school that supports young people with SEND and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and behavioural challenges. The school plays a vital role within the local community, providing a supportive and structured environment for students who require a more tailored approach to education.

The successful candidate will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to support students both inside and outside the classroom. While there will be occasions where individual support is required, the role will primarily involve supporting a range of pupils across the school, helping to promote positive behaviour, engagement, and academic progress.

We are looking for a resilient, patient, and proactive individual who is confident working with young people who may display challenging behaviours and require additional emotional and behavioural support.

Key Responsibilities
