Job summary

Heron Hall Academy, part of North Star Community Trust, seeks an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils across a broad range of abilities. You will work with teachers and the SENCO to deliver tailored interventions and foster literacy, numeracy and independence.

You will contribute to a positive, inclusive culture, build relationships with pupils and colleagues, and support a safe, aspirational learning environment at Heron Hall Academy in Enfield.

Qualifications

• We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant who supports pupils across a range of abilities.
• Experience with secondary-aged pupils and supporting individuals or small groups is preferred.
• A good understanding of the secondary curriculum and positive behaviour management is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils individually and in small groups to achieve potential across literacy and numeracy.
• Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO and pastoral teams to deliver targeted interventions.

About the role

As a Teaching Assistant at Heron Hall Academy, you will play a key role in supporting our pupils to achieve their potential, both academically and personally. Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and our wider Inclusion and Pastoral teams, you will provide tailored support to pupils across a diverse range of abilities and learning needs.

You will work with individuals and small groups, support classroom learning, deliver targeted interventions and help pupils develop their literacy, numeracy, independence and confidence. You will also play an important role in promoting positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and inclusion, helping every pupil feel supported and ready to learn.

What we are looking for

You will have experience of working with secondary-aged pupils and be confident supporting individuals and small groups across a range of learning needs. You should have a good understanding of the secondary curriculum, positive behaviour management and the importance of supporting pupils’ social, emotional and wellbeing needs.

We are looking for someone who can build positive relationships, communicate effectively and remain calm and solution-focused when faced with challenges. You will be organised, reliable and proactive, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and the wider academy team.
