Job summary

Newnham Primary School in the United Kingdom is seeking a dedicated teaching assistant to support the learning environment under the supervision of the class teacher. The role focuses on helping pupils access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities.

You will work with individuals and groups to deliver learning programmes, encourage interaction and contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom community, aligned with the David Ross Education Trust ethos.

Qualifications

• Work under the supervision, instruction and guidance of the class teacher to support teaching and learning activities.
• Provide general support to the class teacher in organisation and management of pupils and the classroom.
• Assist the teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment.
• Promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
• Responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people.

Support the children attending Newnham Primary

Under the specific supervision of the class teacher, work with individuals and groups of pupils to deliver learning programs.

Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.

Ensure children have access to appropriate activities to support their physical, emotional, social and intellectual development.

Provide regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievement and progress.

Have a sound knowledge and/or experience of the National Curriculum
