Job summary

Greenfields Primary School & Nursery is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive, ambitious team. The role focuses on assisting teachers, supporting pupils with the primary curriculum, and promoting inclusive learning.

The successful candidate will be passionate about children’s development, able to follow direction, and committed to safeguarding. Fixed-term, 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, with opportunities for training within the David Ross Education Trust.

Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in teaching and learning activities in the classroom.

  • Promote inclusion; ensure all pupils have equal access to learning opportunities.
  • Be responsible for safeguarding the welfare of children in the school.
  • Be an active team player and contribute to whole-school life.

About the role

Greenfields Primary School & Nursery are looking for an outstanding SEND Teaching Assistant with sound knowledge and/or experience of the primary curriculum to add specific skills to our existing team, and are committed to ensure that all children achieve their best.

This is a fixed term role for 1 year with the possibility of renewal. Working 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per annum.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and they will enjoy working within a year group team to support the class teachers in providing a high quality education for our children.

Applicants must be able:

  • To work under the specific supervision, instruction and guidance of the class teacher to support the teaching and learning activities in the classroom.
  • To provide general support to the class teacher in the organisation and management of pupils and the classroom.
  • To assist the teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment.
  • To promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
  • To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.
