Job summary

Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for Holly Primary School in Forest Town. The role involves 1:1 support for children with special educational needs and general classroom assistance during lessons, breaks, and lunchtimes.

The successful candidate will be IT literate, capable of inputting data into the school system, and committed to inclusive practices while maintaining a positive environment for pupils, staff and parents.

Due to one of our Teaching Assistants retiring shortly Holly Primary School is looking to appoint a skilled Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. This role will be a mixture of working 1:1 with children with special educational needs both in the classroom, break times and lunchtimes. There will also be general classroom support.

The Successful Candidate Will Be
  • Qualified as a teaching assistant
  • Enthusiastic and able to think on their feet to solve problems
  • Be IT literate to input information onto our school information system (after training on this system).
  • Able to keep the child’s provision running effectively
  • Be committed to inclusion of the children they work with
  • Able to communicate well with children, parents and staff
  • Able to maintain a positive outlook and cheerful personality
  • Able to adapt planned curriculum to meet needs

The successful candidate should also have a clear understanding of supporting children with special educational needs from their TA qualifications or experience in work.
