Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Type of Business: Public Sector

Salary: Up to £100 per day, depending on experience
Start Date: ASAP
Length of Contract: Up to the end of the school year (July 2025)

GI Group are now seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to our client based in Doncaster. The Teaching Assistant will help support KS1 children with SEND needs on a 1-1 or 2-1 basis. They will be based in a setting that supports students at risk of permanent exclusion, offering a nurturing environment that prioritizes the needs of the child.

Main Duties of the Teaching Assistant:
  1. Support students with SEND needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Pathological Demand Avoidance.
  2. Work with teachers and SENCO to thoroughly implement individualized learning plans.
  3. Report on learner's progress, identifying any barriers in place.
  4. Interact positively with parents and carers on a regular basis.
  5. Help develop a nurturing environment, always promoting the needs of the child.

Role Requirements:
  1. Experience supporting children with complex additional needs, including Pathological Demand Avoidance.
  2. Patience and empathy.
  3. Excellent communication skills.
  4. The ability to work as part of a team.
  5. Flexibility and adaptability to meet students' needs.
