Location: Doncaster, DN3, South Yorkshire
Salary: £83.85 - £100 per day
Contract Type: Full-time
Start Date: March 2025

We are looking for a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their individual goals.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young learners and to work as part of a supportive and collaborative team.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, including those with EHCPs.
  • Assist in implementing individual learning plans (ILPs) and behavior support plans (BSPs).
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCO to adapt learning materials and resources.
  • Support pupils in developing social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing insights with the wider team.
  • Foster strong relationships with pupils, parents, and external professionals.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
  • Understanding of different SEN conditions, including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate.
  • Training in specific interventions (e.g., Makaton, PECS, or Team Teach).
  • Experience supporting children with physical disabilities or medical needs.
