Job summary

Career Teachers is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a Croydon-based mainstream primary school to provide 1:1 SEND support. The role is full-time, term-time only, with an ASAP start from September 2026.

You will deliver tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND, assist with planning personalised learning activities, and collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to support the child’s academic and social development in a supportive, inclusive setting.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with SEND (Autism/ADHD or speech and language needs desirable).
  • Calm, caring and patient approach.
  • Proactive attitude and adaptability.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with SEND under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Assist with planning and delivery of personalised learning activities.
  • Foster a positive, nurturing relationship with the child to support engagement and well-being.
  • Monitor and record progress and feed back to teachers and professionals as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and the child’s family.

A Primary School in Croydon is looking for three Teaching Assistants to join their team. This school is an OUTSTANDING school with a highly supportive leadership team.

We are a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the heart of Southwark, seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team from September 2026. This full-time role involves providing 1:1 support to a child with SEND (Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities), helping them thrive academically, socially and emotionally within a mainstream classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with SEND, under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of personalised learning activities
