Teaching Assistant

Location: Canterbury, Kent

Salary: £93 - £105 per day (depending on experience)

Start date: ASAP / September 2026

Contract: Full-time, Long-term supply

GSL Education Kent is currently recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Canterbury. This full-time position is available for an immediate start and offers the opportunity to play a vital role in supporting both teachers and pupils in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with class teachers to deliver an engaging and inclusive primary curriculum.
  • Lead 1:1 sessions or small group activities focused on literacy, numeracy, and social development.
  • Assist in monitoring student progress and providing constructive feedback to teaching staff.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to all school-wide safeguarding protocols.
Qualifications
  • Have prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a related youth-support capacity.
  • Demonstrate a sincere passion for helping young students grow both academically and personally.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills and a reliable, professional work ethic.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Meet GSL's safer recruitment background checks.
  • Have a Child Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
