Job summary

GSL Education Kent is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs in Thanet. The role offers flexible full-time/part-time placements across multiple schools, with a daily rate in line with local market expectations and immediate start.

You will work closely with teachers to tailor activities, support learning, and promote positive behaviour while safeguarding responsibilities are upheld and DBS checks are current.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN is desirable.
  • Ability to tailor support to individual learning needs.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills essential.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN.

Are you a caring, patient, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity in Thanet?

GSL Education Kent Branch are seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join in amazing schools across Thanet. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and helping them develop their confidence, independence, and learning skills.

The successful SEN TA will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored assistance, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and feel confident within the classroom.

Key Responsibilities of the Special Educational Needs TA:
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN.
  • Assist with classroom activities and personalised learning tasks.
  • Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and engagement.
  • Work closely with teachers and the wider school team to meet individual needs.
Requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant role:
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN is desirable.
  • A caring, patient, and understanding approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt support to meet individual pupil needs.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
