Salary: Scale 4 £31,434 - £32,346 (pro rata)

Teaching Assistant

Working pattern:Term time only (39 Weeks)

Hours: 32.5 hours per week pro rata for 39 weeks per year

DBS check: Enhanced DBS

Location: Lewisham

The Role

Drumbeat School is currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants, you may be required to work at any of our sites.This is an exciting time to join the school as we are expanding.We offer a great place to work.We have an exciting curriculum, a great staff team and provide lots of support, guidance, friendship and fun for all our staff. Staff benefits inlcude Medicash and childcare vouchers.Drumbeat is a state of the art special school for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) from 4 to 19.

Drumbeat is more than a school, it is acknowledged as an outstanding hub for (ASD) support for Lewisham.It takes a leading role in the provision of outreach support for children (and their families) in mainstream schools and Early Years Centres. We are continually striving to develop our work with our pupils, parents and carers, the local community and the schools we provide specialist support though our Outreach team and the training we offer.The school is committed to being a Centre of Excellence.The vision for Drumbeat is for its staff to work in trans-disciplinary ways - professionals working together seamlessly to meet the needs of the child or young person, putting the child and family at the centre.Drumbeat's work is progressive, innovative and creative, with a 21st century pedagogy that puts children and young people's needs at the heart of everything it does.

What qualities are we looking for? Experienced Teaching Assistants who have worked with students with Autism.English and Maths qualification at GCSE level or above. Excellent communication skills, innovative, creative practitioner, experience of special educational needs, flexibility and reliability, high levels of motivation, imagination and enthusiasm to promote strong and effective teamwork.What can we offer you - a challenge! You will work as part of a professional staff team to support within the classrooms. Supportive and positive leadership team. Drumbeat is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the child and young people and expects all staff and staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
