Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a Teaching Assistant for full-time roles in SEN schools across Thanet and surrounding areas (Margate, Broadstairs, Ramsgate). You’ll support children with additional needs in a safe, inclusive environment. Roles offer long-term opportunities with potential temporary-to-permanent contracts; pay is £93 per day. You’ll work with teachers, parents and external professionals to deliver personalised learning.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and patient approach to learning and behaviour management.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and staff.
• Experience in education, care or supporting individuals with additional needs is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support students with EHCPs both in and out of the classroom.
• Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage confidence and engagement.
• Help students understand and manage behaviour with consistent support.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and external professionals to achieve outcomes.

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs?

We are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to work on a full-time basis (Monday to Friday) within specialist SEN schools across Thanet and the surrounding areas.

These roles offer the opportunity to become a valued member of a dedicated school team, with many positions leading to long-term placements and some progressing to permanent employment.

About the Schools

Your Role

• Support students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) both in and out of the classroom.
• Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage confidence, independence and engagement.
• Help students understand and manage their behaviour through consistent support and encouragement.
• Work alongside teachers, parents and external professionals to deliver the best possible outcomes.
• Assist in delivering personalised learning programmes tailored to each student's individual needs.
• Provide personal care when required.

Requirements

• Full right to work in the UK.
• An enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• A new DBS costs £62, which we'll reimburse after you've completed 20 days of work with us.
