Academics is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of needs in specialist settings in Folkestone. The role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities and involves working 1:1, in small groups, or alongside a class teacher to help pupils engage with learning.
Successful candidates will be patient, reliable and calm, building trusting relationships with pupils. Prior SEN experience helps, but transferable childcare or youth-work skills are valued as well.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to help pupils engage with their learning and develop both academically and personally. Depending on the setting, you could be working 1:1 with individual pupils, supporting small groups or assisting within the classroom alongside the class teacher.
The successful candidate will be someone who is understanding, reliable and patient, with the ability to remain calm and supportive when faced with challenging situations. Building trusting relationships is a huge part of the role, so we're looking for people who genuinely enjoy working with young people and are committed to helping them succeed.
Previous SEN experience is desirable, but we're also interested in candidates who have gained relevant transferable skills through childcare, education, care work, youth work, mentoring, sports or other people-focused roles.
Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy
