Your new school

Percy Shurmer Academy is a large two-form entry primary academy with 450 pupils aged 3 to 11, including 39 children in Nursery and 22 deaf pupils in our Deaf Learning Base (DLB). Led by Principal Mrs. Sharon Burke since 2015, the school was graded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2023, with positive feedback from parents. We are seeking an enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our team.

Your new role

As part of Lift Schools, one of the largest MATs in the country, you will have access to excellent training and support, including higher-level teaching assistant programs to expand your role. What you’ll need to succeed

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship or equivalent, or willingness to work towards this qualification
• Understanding of diverse pupil learning needs
• Patience, calmness, empathy, and the ability to engage and enthuse students
