An Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ school, this is a rare opportunity to work for Percy Shurmer Academy as a teaching assistant from September 2025 on a permanent basis.
Percy Shurmer Academy is a large two-form entry primary academy with 450 pupils aged 3 to 11, including 39 children in the Nursery and 22 deaf pupils in our Deaf Learning Base (DLB). Led by Principal Mrs Sharon Burke, the school was graded ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2023, with positive feedback from parents about the quality of education. We are seeking an enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our team.
As part of Lift Schools, one of the largest MATs in the country, you will have access to excellent training and support for career development, including higher-level teaching assistant programs. The role involves supporting students to access the curriculum, participate in learning, and achieve their potential, while promoting their independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion.
