Empowering Learning Ltd is recruiting Teaching Assistants for a Secondary Special Needs School in Bingley, Bradford. Roles are 1:1 or small-group support, with daytime hours from 8.30am to 3.30pm, starting ASAP.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children, especially those with special needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Knowledge of special education practices and strategies.

  • Patience, empathy and a positive attitude toward working with children.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviours.
  • Knowledge of toddler care and development is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing educational programs and activities for students.
  • Provide support to students with special needs, including those with autism.
  • Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help students with daily tasks, such as personal care and hygiene.
  • Support students in their academic and social development.
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement IEPs for students.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour management strategies.

Job description

Empowering Learning are working with Secondary Special Needs School in Bingley in Bradford who are seeking Teaching Assistants to support in their classrooms on a 1:1 basis or within small groups.

These roles are to start ASAP and hours of work will be 8.30 - 3.30pm

The school caters for Primary and Secondary pupils supporting Children with Autism and Challenging Behaviours and communication needs.

You will be involved in classroom duties and off-site recreational activities.

Duties
  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing educational programs and activities for students.
  • Provide support to students with special needs, including those with autism.
  • Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help students with daily tasks, such as personal care and hygiene.
  • Support students in their academic and social development.
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour management strategies.
