Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd is recruiting a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker / Sports Coach to join a busy Secondary Special Needs School in Batley. The role supports pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, with hours 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, starting ASAP.

This full-time position is temporary to permanent. You will assist in delivering educational activities, support students with autism and challenging behaviours, and help foster an inclusive, nurturing classroom.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with special needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Knowledge of special education practices and strategies.
  • Ability to communicate with students, parents and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Patience, empathy and a positive attitude.
  • Adaptability to changing situations and handling behaviours.
  • Knowledge of toddler care and development is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist lead teacher in educational programs and activities.
  • Provide support to students including those with autism.
  • Help create a positive inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with daily tasks such as personal care and hygiene.
  • Support students in academic and social development.
  • Collaborate on developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour management strategies.

Job description

Empowering Learning are working with a Secondary Special Needs School in Batley who are seeking Behaviour Support Worker/Sports Coach to support in their classrooms on a 1:1 basis or within small groups. These roles are to start ASAP and are full time. and are temporary to permanent.

Pay: £100-£110 a day Monday to Friday school hours 8.30 - 3.30pm

The school caters for Primary and Secondary pupils supporting Children with Autism and Challenging Behaviours and communication needs.

You will be involved in classroom duties and off-site recreational activities.

Duties
  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing educational programs and activities for students.
  • Provide support to students with special needs, including those with autism.
  • Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help students with daily tasks, such as personal care and hygiene.
  • Support students in their academic and social development.
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher.
