Teaching Assistant – Primary School, Alfreton

Pay: £90-£95 per day
Location: Alfreton
Start Date: Immediately Available
Contract Type: Full-time/ Part-time
Hours: 8:30am-3:30pm (Morning or Afternoon shifts also available)

About the Role

Monarch Education is recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support pupils across KS1 and KS2 classes at our fantastic primary schools in Alfreton and the surrounding areas.

This role offers flexibility, variety, and the chance to make a meaningful impact in children’s learning and development. As well as providing general classroom support, experience with SEN/Special Educational Needs is highly sought after for 1:1 or small group work.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting pupils in class and during interventions
• Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
• Encouraging pupil engagement and emotional regulation
• Delivering tailored support for children with additional needs
• Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
• Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with children or young people (in education, care, coaching, or support roles)
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A calm, patient, and proactive approach
• Understanding of EYFS, KS1 or KS2 curriculum (desirable)
• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred but not essential)
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
