Job summary

Wootton Park School is seeking a dedicated Teaching and Learning Assistant to support learners with a range of needs in a secondary setting. You will work with classes, small groups and one-to-one to develop effective learning, independence and positive behaviour.

You will join a team of experienced educators, with opportunities for professional development and progression within the Trust. A supportive coaching environment and wellbeing initiatives are in place.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with young people in a learning environment.
  • Experience in education or school setting preferred.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and wellbeing of learners.
  • Willingness to engage in training and progression opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Support learners in whole classes, small groups and 1:1 to develop learning and independence.
  • Collaborate with SENCo and learning development team in a coaching environment.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and inclusive practice.

Skills

Education

GCSEs including English and Maths
NVQ Level 2 or equivalent

Job description

As a Teaching and Learning Assistant in our secondary phase you will work with learners with a range of learning, social and emotional needs in a variety of curriculum areas. The role will involve working within whole classes, with small groups and on a 1:1 basis to develop effective learning, encourage independence and promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.

You will work alongside a team of experienced SENCo's and a learning development team, furthering your experience within a supportive coaching environment.
